What is yoga?

"Yoga is a light that, once ignited, will never go out. The better the practice, the brighter the flame "
B.K.S. Iyengar

Today, yoga has already become so firmly in our lives that it is difficult to find a person who would not have a conception, even a vague one, about what it is.

Yoga is an ancient spiritual practice that came to us from India. It consists of eight stages, affecting all aspects of human existence - from observing moral principles, working with the body and breathing, to more subtle techniques of controlling the psyche, mind, and consciousness.

In the modern world, yoga is basically meant to work with the body. In the practice of asana - body postures - there are elements of other steps. This is what determines all the positive effects of yoga.

In yoga, as elsewhere, the direction, the school, is important. In our centers, we are engaged in classical hatha yoga according to the method of Sri BK Iyengar.

Being included in the hundred most influential people of the world in 2004 according to the magazine "Time", Iyengar presented innovation within the tradition. His method is very precise, scrupulous, aligning the body in asanas, which provides a deep physiological and therapeutic effect.

In the classroom, auxiliary materials such as rugs, bolsters, bricks, belts, blankets and many other things are used, if necessary, which allows people of any level of training to perform the pose correctly so that it has its positive curative effect on the body.
